eIRB Sessions Spring 2026

 

eIRB Townhall

An eIRB Townhall will be held via Zoom on January 22, 2026 from 12-1pm in preparation for eIRB launch. You must register to attend. Register here: https://upenn.zoom.us/meeting/register/9T53SbbpRvCGMNIV3o7jJQ.

 

Agenda is as follows: 

  • Discuss updates on eIRB launch
  • Revisit procedures for new annual check-in process
  • Revisit new policy on automatic study closures
  • Revisit guidance on active human research protocols migrated to the new eIRB system.
    • Revisit required quality assurance during the first submission of a migrated study in eIRB

 

 

eIRB 101

Get ready for eIRB with eIRB 101!

 

The IRB is excited to launch our new submission system, eIRB, in February 2026. You can learn more about eIRB and access pre-recorded town halls and demonstrations here: https://irb.upenn.edu/eIRB.

 

If you were unable to attend one of our 2025 demos or if you would like additional systems training, please come to one of our 2026 eIRB 101 sessions!

 

IRB staff will review the eIRB system. Sessions will focus on how to practically use eIRB rather than how to craft materials needed for IRB review. Educational sessions focused on IRB submission requirements and materials will be held later in 2026.

 

eIRB 101 sessions will be relevant to anyone who submits to the IRB including faculty, students, and staff. All sessions will include information for biomedical and social-behavioral submitters.

 

Please register for a session if you would like additional eIRB training. Each session will review the same content and leave ample time for questions and answers.

 

Additional sessions may be added depending on demand.
